The top and bottom edges of the rearmost side window on the XC70 don’t line up with the top and bottom edges of the door windows.
Funnily enough, the V70 it was based on was not afflicted:

Volvo, take note. THIS is how you do windows on a wagon.

There was a Volvo wagon where they used the doors from the sedan. So the roof line doesn’t match with the doors.

how does one window

Saturn did the same thing. They kept the same pillars and doors as the sedan and just grafted on a canopy over the back.

I think they’ve earned their right to do what ever the hell they want.. whats more wagon than a Volvo? As far as I can tell, all Volvos are wagons, and every once in a while, out in the wild, sedans can be found wearing Volvo badges.

Same with the 94-97 Accord and first-gen Impreza.

I forgot about this when Jason asked about colored B pillars :(

Volvo 140 and 240 both did it.

The AE92 Corolla wagon did the same thing. The windows match in the base wagon, but not the All-Trac.
Both were sold over here too!

This is nothing compared to the misaligned windows on the 240.

I’m OK with this.
It looks like it’s just a trim panel covering part of the glass. I wonder if that can be removed?

Yeah. Those were lazy.

It’s weird to since the non-XC has a spacer panel in the window as well (to mimic the door frame), but they line it up differently.

The best wagons to do that on are the ones with styling already screwed up so much nobody will notice.

My mum has an XC70, why did you have to ruin my life.

Swap the trim panels. All done. I was going to do that on my old v70xc. I removed the roof rack and swapped in the one piece white rain rails from a junkyard car. I never got around to doing the trim panels though.
I had even thought of blacking out the pillars. What’s funny is the grass is always greener...cars with blacked out pillars, people pull off the trim. People without blackout, wrap it in vinyl or dip them.

Land Rover has had this covered since 2005:
The prev generation Disco II was also somewhat misaligned, but less obviously so:

I had an All-Trac, auto unfortunately.
Would. Not. Die. Despite me ice racing it for 3 seasons and multiple tangles with snowbanks. After one particular crashing going 80km/h dead straight into a snowbank, I just had to replace the headlight. Everything else was fine.

Toyota makes the best cars. Their 80s-90s lineup is the best ever made
